      Coca Cola Not So Sweet

You have to hand it to those crafty people at Coca Cola, when they have to come up with a new brand name, they do tend to hit the nail where it will cause the most confusion, and the latest effort is just as confusing as all the rest.

Coca Cola life is about to hit British shops and supermarkets, here is the blah from Coke themselves :

In September 2014 we'll be welcoming a new drink to the family with the launch of Coca‑Cola Life – our first lower-calorie cola sweetened from natural sources.
Coca‑Cola Life is made with a blend of sugar and stevia leaf extract, and contains a third less sugar and a third fewer calories than Coca‑Cola2.
Did you know? Native to Paraguay, the stevia leaf is a source of intense natural sweetness. Sweeteners made from stevia are calorie-free and up to 200 times sweeter than table sugar
We're constantly innovating and creating products that we think people will love. The introduction of Coca‑Cola Life is part of our commitment to offer a variety of drinks, so there’s something to suit every lifestyle and occasion.
Our Coca‑Cola range now has something for everyone: Coca‑Cola, lower-calorie Coca‑Cola Life and two no-calorie options, Coca‑Cola Zero and Diet Coke.
and here is what they say a about the calories:

      • Coca‑Cola = 42 calories per 100ml
      • Coca‑Cola Life = 27 calories per 100ml
      • Coca‑Cola Zero = Less than 1 calorie per 100ml
      • Diet Coke = Less than 1 calorie per 100ml
Looks great with all that green labeling and stuff, and the Coke company even tell you that it is being launched in Britain, after being tested on the Argentinian and Chilean plate, to comply with the government over here and their "war on obesity".

So what exactly does it do towards that, it has less calories that is true, but that is only because the plant extract they use allows them to reduce the amount of sugar they put into it, so compared to a standard coke, how does it fare, well it still contains 65% of the sugar a standard coke does. so why don't they use more of this Stevia Leaf extract, well the simple answer is, it's too sweet, any more than the amount now added would put you off Coke for life, which is apt really considering thats what they are calling it.
